AOO and Wilckodontics: Is there value, does it work?
Wed, 04/21/2010 - 20:08 — mark jacobson
If you are a periodontist, why is it necessary to take the Wilko brother's course on rapid tooth movement? Is there value in AOO? What are the upside and downside risks? What are your surgical and orthodontic experience with it? What is the patient response?
Bottom line should I take the course?

What is AOO?
What is AOO? I am not familiar with this term.
AOO = Wilkodontics
AOO is Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontics. Also known as Wilkodontics.
AOO is a surgical orthodontics technique invented by the Wilcko brothers in Erie, PA. It involves stimulating healing with the Regional Acceleratory Phenomenon (RAP) and shortens the time required for orthodontics by 1/2.
Wilcko had a big article about this technique in one of last year's issues of JIACD.
