Massimo Del Fabbro, PhD

Dr. Del Fabbro received his degree in Biology in 1989 at the University of Milano. Ph.D. in Human Physiology in 1994 at the University of Milano. Post-doctoral fellowship in 1995-1997 at the Institute of Physiology, University of Milano. In 1999-2002 obtained a grant for the project “Physiopathology of periodontal and peri-implant soft tissues”, at the Department of Medicine, Surgery and Dentistry, University of Milano.

Since 2002 he is a researcher and professor for the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Milano. His scientific interests are in the fields of physiopathology of periodontal and peri-implant tissues, biology of osseointegration, regenerative techniques, biomaterials, tissue engineering, biomedical statistics, methodology of research. He is presently Head of the Section of Oral Physiology at the Department of Health Technologies (Head: Prof. R. Weinstein), Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi, University of Milano, Italy. He is responsible for several national and international research projects in the field of dentistry. He is a Cochrane reviewer and referee for several Journals dealing with periodontology and implant dentistry. He is author and co-author of over 120 full papers (of which more than 80 on indexed journals) in the fields of periodontology, implant dentistry, endodontics, physiology, biochemistry.
