How Do I Determine if the Implants are Osseointegrated? What is the latest technology determining if an implant is ready to restore?

I typically what 4-6 months before letting my restorative dentist restore the implants. What is the besr way to determine if the Implants are Osseointegrated and ready to be restored?
The Osstell device determines a value,"Implant Stability Quotient", which correlates with the degree of osseointegration. I think Straumann sells them. Randy
Dr. Barbie..
The two current devices available in the market regarding the implant stability are the Ostell Mentor and the Periotest .
Both the devices are used to assess the implant stability after surgery and before loading.
As for the ISQ value...it shows the stability of the implant.
Values above 60 immediately after surgery show very god primary stability.
Lower than 30 may have very poor prognosis for the osseointegration.
The Ostell Mentor works on the concept of Resonance Frequency Analysis.
The Periotest is said to have more predictable results.
I don't think that >60 = Immediate load. Many of us who have done immediate load cases have seen higher failures even in cases with good primary stability. Maybe consider immediate non-occlusal loading (vis. Immediate temporization), but still across the board you have to select your cases carefully by site, occlusion, and patient.
I never immediate load. I bring the patient back after 2 months of healing. If the isq value is greater then 60-65 I will send to the gp to impress and temp.

Dr. joshuashieh: A follow up question on ISQ

So based on that does lower then 30 indicate failure? And does a value above 60 mean you can load it right away?
Thanks for your help.

ISQ give you a good standard to determine restorability
