Mel Mupparapu, DMD

Muralidhar (Mel) Mupparapu is a Professor in the Deptment of Diagnostic Sciences, UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School and is the Director of the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Dr. Mupparapu is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine where he was a member of the faculty from 1996 until 2002 when he moved to UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School. Dr. Muppapu is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and is active member of the American Acamy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (AAOMR), the American Academy of Oral Medicine (AAOM) and the International Association of Dental Research (IADR).

Dr. Mupparapu has over 60 peer-reviewed publications in various national and international dental journals and is a co-author of two text-book chapters. He is the receipient of numerous technology grants both from the Master Educator's Guild of the New Jersey Dental School and the UMDNJ-Academic Information and Technology Grants Committee. Dr. Mupparapu became the Master Educator of the year in 2006 and was inducted in to the Master Educators Guild of the UMDNJ. Dr. Mupparapu lectures nationally and internationally on the topics of digital imaging, local and wide-area wireless networks, use of technology in dental office and other topics related toOral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He is an Assoate Editor for the international dental journal, Quintessence International.
