I just got finished reading the AOO article in JIACD's March issue and I am impressed. I have not done any cases myself, I am looking for opinions and peoples experience in AAO? Has anyone taken the Wilcko course? Is it a good course?

Wilcko AOO course in Texas
I havent done any cases yet but I am signed up for the course in texas with some other oral surgeons. I am excited to add this in my practice.
The Wilcko Brothers are great. Tom is a hoot!
I took the AAO (Wilckodontics) course up in Erie,PA from the Wilcko brothers. Loved it. I have done a ton of cases with my orthodontist and we have had some amazing results.
The Wilckos put on good lecture and are very entertaining. I hope their Texas course is as good as their Erie course.
AOO I am seeing some nice cases.
I have a periodontist and orthodontist that I work with on patients. They been doing AOO and I am seeing some great results. My patients seem to be happy and the surgery doesnt seem to be an issue.
I am seeing cases that should take 2-3 years done in 6-8months.
AOO: It works well but you need all your team on board
I took the course offered by the Wilcko brothers a year ago. It is a very nice technique. I use it in my practice and it works well when everyone is on the same page.
When I say everyone on the same page, you need to make sure your orthodontist understands the concept and make sure your patient get in for the frequent wire change. If you dont you will lose the RAP very quickly.
When done correctly, it can reduce ortho treatment times and I find reduces some of the complications of ortho (bone loss, recession.)

As an OMFS with considerable orthognathic surgery experience I took the AOO course with some hesitation at the request of an orthodontic colleague three years ago. I found the course to be extremely informative, well run, and very pertinent to anyone interested in surgical orthodontics. Since that time we have used this innovative surgical technique on over eighty cases in a variety of indications with impressive results and more importantly minimal complications and excellent stability. We have found a greatly expanded scope of orthodontic treatment that can be offered to patients with predictable, stable results. For example borderline orthognathic cases can often be treated in a timely manner with minimal morbidity and predictable functional and esthetic outcomes. I have found both Drs. Tom and William Wilcko to be passionate educators who are always available for advice and consultation by email and by phone. I would highly recommend this course to both orthodontists and surgeons. Accelerated Osteogenic Orthodontic: Thanks Dr. Pulver for info
Thanks for the info. Sounds like a technique I should be using in my office. I will do some more homework. You have a link for the course.
