One Stage vs two Stage delayed implant...What are you doing and Why? Seems to me people are still doing the traditional branemark two stage approach. Opinions? MS
Started using it two months ago and it is such a valuable tool.
I was always troubled about when to send the implant case to get restored. The ostell changes that. I know exactly when my implant is ready to be loaded.
We also have to consider if grafting was done at the time of implant placement, in my case if i grafted, always bury the implant, The second stage aproach is pretty easy with tissue punch.
Couldnt agree more; stability is an issue when determining whether to bury an implant. I use an ostell device. I am very comfortable one staging an implant if the stability is there.
If I can gain implant stability with a 30ncm torque then I will one stage the implant and put a healing abutment. Otherwise I will bury it in a two stage approach.
Ostell Device will change implant practices

I started doing more 1 stage procedures since I use the Ostell.
The ostell device is changing my practice. With high ISQ values I tend to do more 1 stage implant procedures.
Couldnt agree more with FCampos one two staging implants.
If a site is grafted I tend to two stage the implant. The bone is usually immature so I dont want to push it and result in early implant failure.
We also have to consider if

Stability is definitely an issue in One staging and implant

One vs two stage: Depends on stability
