Patient with Internal resorption on tooth # 11
Fri, 03/27/2009 - 14:54 — Dr. Pratt
I have a patient with internal resorption tooth #11. It is mid root and I believe I caught it either as it looks like it is just extending into the dentin in a circular fashion away from the pulp.
What is the best treatment option to ensure longterm success of the case?

Internal Resorption #11: Depends??
If internal resorption-do RCT. If external, Needs RCT w/MTA, at least inarea of defect. If probeable, may need surgery. Certainly referral to endodontist for assessment good idea.
This paper does great job describing resorption: J Endod. 1976 Nov;2(11):329-34. Differential diagnosis of internal and external root resorption.Gartner AH, Mack T, Somerlott RG, Walsh LC.
